This is the second LG page on this site, and it opens the way the OLED one did: there is nothing here to disable over ADB. The 2025 QNED sets run webOS 25, which is not Android. No USB debugging, no sideloading, no list of packages to go through.

What you can do is in the webOS guide, and the first job is switching off Live Plus, the content recognition that ships enabled and that almost nobody finds, because it is not filed under a name you would search for.

But this range asks for homework the OLEDs did not: reading the spec sheet before you buy. Because inside one series LG sells televisions that have nothing in common.

The 43-inch set in the 87 series is not a Mini LED

I start here because it is the most expensive thing to find out at home.

The page for the 43QNED87A6D is titled, on LG's own site, «Smart TV LG QNED evo AI QNED87 43 pulgadas MiniLED 4K 2025». Its own spec table, further down that same page, says «Tipo de Pantalla: 4K QNED», «Tipo de Retroiluminación: Perimetral» and «Tasa de Refresco: 60Hz Nativo».

Perimetral means edge-lit. It is not Mini LED. And it is not one badly filled field: the processor drops to «Procesador 4K IA α7 Gen8», HDR stops at «HDR10 / HLG», the ports fall to «3ud» and Wi-Fi to Wi-Fi 5. The product sheet regulated under EU Regulation 2019/2013 (the figure LG files with the Commission) closes the case: «Image refresh frequency rate: 60» Hz.

The 50-inch is identical. Both carry the 6D suffix in the code; the 55, 65 and 75 carry 6B, and those really are «4K QNED MiniLED».

Rule of thumb: in the 87 series, the suffix outranks the number. A 43QNED87A6D is, point by point, closer to a QNED80A than to the 65-inch set in the advert.

Three HDMI or four, and no bandwidth figure on any of them

On the QNED80A the sheet reads «Salida HDMI: 3ud (soporta eARC, ALLM)», with «eARC (HDMI 2)». Three ports, one of them eaten by the soundbar. You are left with two.

On the QNED87A from 55 inches up it reads «4ud (Soporta 4K 120Hz, eARC, VRR, ALLM, QMS (Puerto 4)», with «eARC (HDMI 3)». Four ports, and QMS (the flicker-free refresh switching) is tied to port 4.

Here is an important difference from the OLEDs. On the C5 and the G5, LG's own FAQ stated that «all HDMI ports support the full HDMI 2.1 bandwidth (48Gbps)». On the QNED pages that sentence does not exist. The closest LG gets is a footnote reading «según especifica el HDMI 2.1» (as specified by HDMI 2.1) with no number attached. That is not the same as saying 48 Gbps, and I am not going to write it for them.

60 Hz, 120 Hz and 144 Hz: three different televisions

The QNED80A sheet says «60Hz Nativo» and «VRR (Tasa de Refresco Variable): Si (hasta 60Hz)». Its page repeats it in the small print: it works «exclusively with games or computer inputs compatible with 60Hz». Sixty hertz and that is the end of it. For a current console, this matters.

The QNED87A has two steps of its own. The 55-inch declares «120Hz Nativo» and «VRR: Si (hasta 120Hz)». The 65 and the 75, «120Hz Nativos (VRR 144Hz)». So 144 Hz only exists from 65 inches up, and only with variable refresh. And the 43 and 50, as we saw, stop at 60.

Three numbers inside what the shop calls "the 87 series".

HDR: Dolby Vision only on the big ones, and no HDR10+ anywhere

The HDR field on the QNED80A says «HDR10 / HLG». Nothing else. There is no Dolby Vision. The Mini LED QNED87A says «Dolby Vision / HDR10 / HLG».

What they all agree on, and agree with the OLEDs about, is what is missing: no 2025 QNED supports HDR10+. That has always been LG's position and it has not changed.

Sound does not separate the ranges either: both declare «20W» and «2.0 Canales», with the drivers firing downwards. It is the same audio kit in the entry model and in the Mini LED.

Illustration. Decorative: the diagrams in the text carry the detail.

What changes inside without showing

The QNED80A carries «Bluetooth Support: Si (v 5.1)» and «Wi-Fi: Si (Wi-Fi 5)». The Mini LED QNED87A moves up to Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6, and adds FreeSync, AI Picture Pro, Dolby Vision at 4K and 120 Hz for gaming, and the Always Ready mode.

The rest they share: two USB 2.0, optical out, Ethernet, two aerial inputs, a CI slot «except UK, Ireland», DVB-T2/T, DVB-C and DVB-S2/S tuners, and the «Magic Remote MR25GA / MR25GB (UK, Italia)» handset.

At 65 inches they even share the chassis: both measure «1456 x 840 x 29,7» millimetres without the stand and weigh «22,5» kilos, with a 300 x 300 VESA mount. What changes is the stand: wide feet on the 80A, a 340 x 285 central pedestal on the 87A.

Power draw, and a surprise like the OLEDs had

From the regulated sheet of the 65QNED80A6A: class E in SDR at 84.6 W, class G in HDR at 140 W, 0.5 W in standby and 2.0 W in networked standby.

From the 65QNED87A6B: the same class E at the same 84.6 W in SDR, and 144 W in HDR. The Mini LED, with double the refresh rate and more dimming zones, draws four watts more than the entry model.

The 43QNED87A6D, by contrast, drops to class G in SDR at 54 W. Smaller screen, worse class.

How long they will keep updating it

The three clocks from the OLED page are all still here, saying the same things.

The British sheet for both models puts it in one line: «The security update is supported until: 31/12/2029».

The webOS renewal programme keeps its small print: webOS «supports the next 4 update versions within 5 years from the launch year of the model purchased. The first update will be available 2 years after the product launch».

And the warning worth reading in full is still there: accepting the download of a new webOS system «may cause the loss of certain features present in the previous version, because they are discontinued in this new system». A webOS update can take features away from you; a security patch cannot. They are not the same thing.

The energy sheet, for its part, declares 8 years of minimum availability for software and firmware updates, for spare parts and for product support, counted from when the model stops being sold.

The microphone is not in the television

From the regulated sheet, on both models: «Voice recognition sensor available: No» and «Room presence sensor available: No».

The set itself carries no microphone and no presence sensor. The microphone lives in the Magic Remote, and a remote can be left in a drawer.

How to tell whether this page is about your set

The European codes look like 65QNED80A6A and 65QNED87A6B. What matters are the three central positions (80A or 87A) and, in the 87 series, the suffix: 6B is Mini LED, 6D is not. They are on the rear sticker and under Settings → Support → TV Information.

What can actually come off

The same as on any LG running webOS 25, in order of payoff:

Live Plus, the content recognition, on by default and reaching what comes in over HDMI and over the aerial too. Four menu levels down, walked through step by step in the webOS guide.

Personalised ads and recommendations, spread across several screens of the privacy settings.

Whatever apps webOS lets you uninstall, which is more than Tizen or VIDAA allow.

Where this page falls short

LG publishes no brightness figure in nits for any 2025 QNED: not one number appears on the web sheet or the energy sheet. It publishes no RAM or internal storage either. And, as said above, it does not give the HDMI bandwidth, which it did give for the OLEDs.

If you have one in front of you and can look at the free storage in the settings, that figure closes the page, and nobody says it today with a source in hand.

Everything here applies to a device you own, and every removal is reversible. The limits of this project: What we do and do not do
