Samsung Q60D and Q6F: what they ship with and what comes off

Let us start with what saves time: these two sets run Tizen, which is not Android. There is no ADB, no pm uninstall, no list of packages to disable. Everything you can do on a Samsung lives in its own menus, and we have written it up in cleaning up a Samsung television with Tizen.

If you came here looking for commands, that page is the answer, and the reason these brands were left out of the directory is in why Samsung and LG sets are out of scope.

What belongs here is the question that brings people to this range: what does an entry QLED really give you over a Crystal UHD. The Q60D is the 2024 set and the Q6F the 2025 one.

What the QLED adds over the Crystal UHD#

Here is the 65-inch Q6F next to the 65-inch Crystal UHD DU7000, exactly as samsung.com describes them:

Twelve rows and one single difference: the label. The processor is called Q4 Lite Processor instead of Crystal Processor 4K, and the HDR is called Quantum HDR instead of HDR. One watt separates their power draw.

The real difference exists, and it sits in one place: the regulated fiche. The one for the TU65DU7105K says LED LCD under panel technology; the ones for the TQ65Q6FAAU and the TQ65Q60DAU say QLED LCD. The German site backs it up: the Q6F is certified to the TÜV Rheinland "Real Quantum Dot Display" standard, issued on 30.04.2025, which attests to the QD film and the blue LED. The Spanish Q6F page adds one box the DU7000 does not have, Color Booster: Yes.

That is what you are buying: colour volume. Not more ports, not more sound, not more refresh rate.

Three HDMI ports, and all three at 60 Hz#

The eighteen product pages we downloaded, nine Spanish, seven German and two British, all eighteen declare HDMI: 3. And in the maximum input rate row, the ones that carry it say 4K 60Hz (for HDMI 1/2/3). The British site calls that row HDMI (High Frame Rate) and gives the same value; the German ones do not carry it at all. The QN90F and the S95F say 4K 165Hz (for HDMI 1/2/3/4) there.

The VRR that appears one year and vanishes the next#

The Q60D of 2024 declares, on all five Spanish pages and all four German ones, VRR: Not available and FreeSync: Not available.

The Q6F of 2025 declares VRR: Yes on the four Spanish pages and on both British ones. The German page does not carry the row.

And the manual backs neither claim: its table of supported resolutions for FreeSync (VRR) starts at 120 Hz, and both models sit in the list of models that support up to 50/60 Hz.

50 Hz on the website, 60 Hz in the fiche#

The website says 50Hz in the refresh rate field, on the Q60D and on the Q6F, in Spain and in the UK. The nineteen regulated fiches we downloaded, across three countries and every size, say something else: 60 Hz default image refresh frequency rate.

The manual reconciles them. Its 2023/2024 list reads Q6*C/Q6*D, Q7*C/Q7*D (50-inch and smaller models), QE1C/QE1D..., and the 2025 one QEF1, Q6F, Q7F (except for 98-inch model), Q8F.... The panel takes both and each document picked one.

HDR10+ yes, Dolby Vision zero#

The string "Dolby Vision" appears zero times across the eighteen product pages, the nineteen regulated fiches and the three manuals we kept.

What does change between the two sets is the shading. The Q60D declares HDR 10+: Yes (ADAPTIVE). The Q6F drops to Support. Adaptive, no.

Both declare eARC, eARC/ARC in Spain and the UK and HDMI-eARC: Ja on the German pages. None of them says which port it is on. The manual only asks that you connect the soundbar to the eARC dedicated HDMI port on your TV.

The year that went backwards#

This is where the Q6F loses against its predecessor:

• Ports. The Q60D has 2 x USB-A and Digital Audio Out (Optical): 1. The Q6F has one USB and no optical output: the row does not exist on the pages of any of the three countries.
• Panel. Dual LED and Supreme UHD Dimming on the Q60D; Mega Contrast and UHD Dimming on the Q6F.
• Remote. TM2360E on the Q60D, which the German page calls a Premium Solar Smart Remote. TM1240A on the Q6F, and the 2025 manual files it under H5***F/F6***F/U7***F/U8***F/QEF1/Q5F/Q6F, Standard Remote Control, the battery one, while the rest of the range charges over USB-C or from a solar cell.
• Video over USB. The manual gives the Q60D the table Q6*C/Q6*D/QE1C/ QE1D.../DU8, with HEVC up to 4096 x 2160 at 80 Mbps. The Q6F gets (Q6F/U7***F/U8***F/BEFH), which stops at 3840 x 2160 at 50 Mbps.
• Power. The 65-inch Q60D declares class E and 69.0 W in SDR. The 65-inch Q6F, class G and 109.0 W. Same size, two classes worse and 58 % more power.

The German figure that does not match its own fiche#

The German page uses the exact wording of the regulation, Leistungsaufnahme im Ein-Zustand bei hohem Dynamikumfang (HDR) in Watt, so the two numbers are comparable. And on the Q6F they do not agree:

• 55": the site says 125 W; the GQ55Q6FAAU fiche, 114.0 W.
• 65": the site says 170 W; the GQ65Q6FAAU fiche, 140.0 W.
• 85": the site says 268 W; the fiche, 268.0 W. This one matches.

On the Q60D all four sizes we checked match. The mismatch belongs to the new model, and only at the small sizes.

How many years of support, and until what date#

The Spanish Q6F page says 7 years from the moment of launch; the British one, up to 7 years from the product's release year starting in 2023; the German one, bis zu 7 Jahre, counting from 2025. The regulated fiche says 8 years of software updates, 7 for spare parts and 7 of product support, and EPREL confirms the 7 across its twelve Q6F registrations.

What is new is that two sites commit to a date, and it is not the same one:

• Germany: Sicherheits-Update Zeitraum (gültig bis), 01.09.2030.
• UK: Security Update Period (At least 5 years from launch), 31 DECEMBER 2030.

Four months apart for the same television, and the Spanish page gives no date at all.

On the Q60D the spread is worse. The German site says security updates are provided for three years from launch. The British PSTI document says 5 years from 2024 and puts the end at 31 December 2029. The regulated fiche again says 8, and the Spanish page mentions no period.

The sitemaps do not tell the same story#

Germany lists the Q60D in six sizes, 43 to 85. Spain lists five under Q60DAU and files the 75-inch only under Q64DAU, Q67DAU and Q68DAU. Same television: the fiches for TQ65Q60DAU, TQ65Q64DAU, TQ65Q67DAU and TQ65Q68DAU all four declare 69.0 W and 160.0 W.

The British sitemap has not one single Q60D page, and yet the QE65Q60DAU fiche still returns 200. Of the Q6F it lists only 75 and 85 inches, with the AAK suffix instead of AAU, while EPREL registers a QE55Q6FAAU and a QE65Q6FAAU the sitemap never shows.

How to tell whether this is your set#

The 65-inch Q6F is TQ65Q6FAAUXXC in Spain, GQ65Q6FAAUXZG in Germany and QE65Q6FAAKXXU in the UK. The 65-inch Q60D is TQ65Q60DAUXXC and GQ65Q60DAUXZG. The letter in the middle block is the year: F is 2025 and D is 2024.

What Samsung does not publish#

Brightness. Not one figure in nits across the eighteen pages or the nineteen regulated fiches.

The Tizen version, the RAM and the storage. The operating system field says "Tizen™ Smart TV" and that is where it ends.

The eARC port, and whether there is real VRR, which the site asserts on the Q6F, denies on the Q60D and the manual backs on neither.
