What it is
Checkup app (from Mobile Klinik; a Canadian store for buying, selling, and repairing smartphones)
Mainly used to run device-health diagnostics, estimate device value post-diagnostics (for re-selling at a Mobile Klinik location), and finding nearby Mobile Klinik locations to book appointments for device repair. Also contains ads and promotions for new devices and accessories.
Generally regarded as bloatware because diagnostics are generic at best, and is eager to request many unnecessary and potentially invasive device permissions.
Safe to remove if you don't use it, and can be re-downloaded from the Google Play Store at any time.
Commands
adb shell pm uninstall --user 0 com.telus.checkupTo put it back:
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.telus.checkupEvery removal listed here is per-user only: the system image is untouched, and the restore command puts the app back from the copy already on the device. Nothing is downloaded.
This is not the directory. Here we say what a package is in general; what happens on your particular television is on your model's entry, and that one wins. The same package can be dead weight on one set and hold the home screen up on another.
