What it is

I have uninstalled it for the user 0 on my phone, and since then I haven't noticed any functionality drop.

Cell signal is similar as before, also calls, SMSs and mobile data. I think it is not worth having this package installed because it uses a lot of wakelock time, but I cannot see any cell signal drop since I uninstalled it.

In the code found some things: omadm, wifi calling, IMS. Its app for dual SIM reachability? Not sure if its app for debugging.

Commands

adb shell pm uninstall --user 0 com.sonymobile.telephony.extension

To put it back:

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.sonymobile.telephony.extension

Every removal listed here is per-user only: the system image is untouched, and the restore command puts the app back from the copy already on the device. Nothing is downloaded.

This is not the directory. Here we say what a package is in general; what happens on your particular television is on your model's entry, and that one wins. The same package can be dead weight on one set and hold the home screen up on another.
